A secret, a ring, an "I do"
When she called me and told me about her plans, I was on board right away.
While the couple was in Hamburg for a few weeks, she wanted to propose to her girlfriend - and she wanted the moment captured in photos. We secretly planned the photo shoot together. Her girlfriend thought it was just a regular couple’s photo shoot. It was the first time the two of them had been in front of the camera together.
One September evening, we met on the outskirts of Hamburg. The sun was slowly setting, bathing the heathland in warm, golden light.

After a while, we arrived at the spot I had chosen for the proposal.
She got down on one knee, took the ring out of her bag - and when her friend turned around, she was completely taken aback. The surprise was definitely a success. What followed were tender words, the big question, and a “yes.”
I was very moved. Moments like these can’t be staged - they just happen. And that’s exactly what makes them so unforgettable.
