Your Wedding for Two
ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER IN NORTHERN GERMANY AND BEYOND
Sometimes less is more.
No hundred guests, no hours-long schedule, no expectations to live up to. Just the two of you. In a place that suits you, with the person you want to say “I do” to forever.
An elopement isn’t a shortcut. It’s a conscious choice. For intimacy instead of a show. For a day that truly reflects who you are, not what others expect from a wedding.
I’ll be there to capture your journey through my lens. Whether on the North Sea coast, in the dunes of Denmark, on the beaches of the Netherlands, or at any other place that tells your story.
"Hilke has such a warm and friendly manner; the photos turned out absolutely beautiful, and I can definitely say that you’re in such good hands with her and just have a great time. I highly recommend her!"

Your day, your rules
INTIMATE, AUTHENTIC, AND TAILORED JUST FOR YOU
An elopement means you’re in charge. The location, the time, the atmosphere. Whether you’re standing on the beach at sunrise, strolling through the dunes in the afternoon, or capturing the last light of day in the evening- I adapt to you, not the other way around.
And because an elopement is often a journey, I’m happy to accompany you beyond Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein - to Denmark, the Netherlands, or wherever your day takes you.
WHAT AN ELOPEMENT IS
An elopement is a deliberate, intimate wedding celebrated with just a few close friends and family. Just the two of you. It’s not a big celebration, there’s no traditional schedule, and it’s not a mandatory event.
It’s the courage to say: This day belongs to us.
More and more couples are choosing to elope- not because they don’t want a big wedding, but because they want something different: a day that truly feels like them.
Sometimes the civil ceremony takes place separately; in that case, the elopement itself is an independent or symbolic ceremony held at a meaningful location, with words that truly come from the two of you.
WHO AN ELOPEMENT WEDDING IS FOR
An elopement is for couples who
-
want a day that truly reflects who they are - without compromise
-
prefer the great outdoors to a traditional wedding venue
-
want to say “I do” just the two of them in a place of their choosing
-
love to travel and envision spending their special day in a unique location
HOW AN ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION WORKS
Before the elopement, we’ll sit down together to talk about you and your vision. I’ll help you turn your loose ideas into a day that feels exactly the way you imagine it. We’ll discuss the venue, the atmosphere, and what matters most to you. If you’d like, I can offer tips for a relaxed schedule - the day should feel completely tailored to you.
During your elopement, I’ll be there with you all day if you’d like - from the quiet moments of getting ready to the last light of the evening. I’ll capture everything that happens: the spontaneous gesture, the look that says it all, the silence after you say “I do.”
After the elopement, you’ll receive your photos in a lovingly curated online gallery. Memories of a day that belonged only to the two of you.

Do you have any questions?
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY
What is an elopement?
An elopement is an intimate wedding with just a small group of people - often just the two of you as a couple - at a location that suits you. The focus isn’t on elaborate ceremonies or external expectations, but on your connection and a meaningful experience together. Many couples choose to elope in nature, on the beach, or abroad. An elopement can be a civil ceremony, a non-traditional ceremony, or a symbolic ceremony - whatever feels right for you.
Do you also officiate elopements abroad?
Yes, I’d be happy to. I photograph elopements in northern Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and, upon request, other locations in Europe. Whether by the sea, in the mountains, or at your favorite spot - together, we’ll plan an elopement that’s truly perfect for you.
Do we have to get officially married for an elopement?
No - an elopement doesn’t necessarily have to be a civil ceremony. Many couples opt for an independent or symbolic ceremony and plan their elopement without regard to legal requirements. Others combine their elopement with a civil wedding - both options are possible.
What should you wear to an elopement?
Whatever feels right for you. Some couples wear a wedding dress and a suit, while others opt for simple outfits, go barefoot on the beach, or choose clothing that reflects their personal style. An elopement thrives on the fact that you feel free and true to yourselves.
How long does an elopement last?
An elopement can last a few hours or a whole day - depending on how you’d like to spend your day. Some couples prefer to have a photographer present only for the ceremony, while others want every special moment of the entire day captured. Together, we’ll plan an itinerary that suits you and your elopement.
"Hilke knows how to capture amazing photos without making them look staged. You can definitely tell from the photos how much fun we had—we can't even pick a favorite because there are just so many great ones!"
