A summer evening by the Elbe
SUMMER ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SHOOT ON ELBE BEACH
He had popped the question somewhere in Europe - in the middle of a road trip, far from home.
And even while they were still traveling, the couple reached out to me: Would I be able to squeeze in a last-minute engagement photo shoot while they were passing through Hamburg?
No sooner said than done. A short time later, we were standing together with our feet in the sand, the Elbe murmuring softly, the evening sun low in the sky - and the two of them were still beaming with the happiness of the past few days. It was one of those evenings that feel effortless. Peaceful, full of joy, and filled with their first thoughts about how they envisioned their wedding.

It’s not uncommon for couples who are just in Hamburg for a short trip or passing through to reach out to me- and who, in addition to vacation selfies, would like to take home some professional photos as well.
What a wonderful idea. Hamburg has so many special spots that are perfect for an engagement photo shoot - the Elbe beach, the Speicherstadt, the Alster, the harbor. And sometimes it’s precisely this spontaneity that gives the photos their unique character.
You don't need a special occasion - but if you've just gotten engaged, that's obviously a particularly wonderful reason.
