One weekend in April, I met up with the couple for their after-wedding photoshoot in the dunes of Denmark. Dark clouds were gathering overhead and the wind was rustling the tall grasses on the dunes.
Their wedding was already behind them. With no time pressure and no set schedule to follow, we were free to choose the location and time for the photoshoot.
Together, we strolled through the dunes, enjoying the peace and quiet whilst capturing lots of lovely memories along the way. It was one of those mornings where the focus isn’t on taking as many photos as possible, but on consciously savouring the time we spent together.
Amidst the sandy paths, the wind in our hair and the sweeping views, we captured natural, candid shots that show the couple exactly as they are.

WHY AN AFTER-WEDDING PHOTO SHOOT IS OFTEN MORE RELAXED THAN THE COUPLE’S PHOTOS ON THE WEDDING DAY
A wedding day is full of special moments. At the same time, it often passes more quickly than expected. Between the ceremony, well-wishes, group photos and the reception, there is often very little time left for photos of just the couple.
That is precisely why many couples opt for an after-wedding photo shoot, either in addition to or sometimes as an alternative to the wedding day shoot.
The biggest advantage is that there’s no time pressure. You’re free to choose the location, time it to coincide with the best light, and focus entirely on each other. Nobody’s waiting for you, and you don’t have to worry about the rest of the day’s schedule.
Many couples also enjoy the chance to wear their wedding outfits once more. It brings back memories of the wedding whilst creating new shared experiences at the same time.

For this after-wedding photoshoot, we chose the dunes of the Danish North Sea coast. The vast landscape, the tall grasses and the special atmosphere made this the perfect setting for natural and relaxed couple photos.
