BABY-BELLY-SHOOTING IN SPRING AT ELBE BEACH

On one of these first really warm spring evenings, I was able to accompany a very special baby bump shoot - outside in nature, on the Elbe beach, just outside the city limits of Hamburg.

The sand under my feet, the sound of the waves, the wide view over the water: the sun was already low, reflecting golden on the calm Elbe, while a ship slowly passed by in the distance. You could hear the sheep bleating on the dyke - a sound that simply belongs here and underlined the peaceful atmosphere.

The two of them walked barefoot through the soft sand, the world around them far away. It was one of those evenings when everything seems to stand still. Nature shone in lush green, the last rays of sunlight danced on the water - and in the middle of it all: two people full of anticipation for one of the greatest adventures of their lives.

I love capturing moments like this with my camera. Natural, genuine moments in which you don't pose, but simply are. This baby bump shoot was a wonderful mixture of calm, closeness, anticipation and a warm evening atmosphere - and a great example of how personal outdoor shoots in and around Hamburg can be.
